Piano Lessons

Every student is unique, and so I enjoy tailoring my teaching style to the student’s individual strengths and interests.

From the first lesson, students are taught to recognize notes and associate them with the piano keys to play simple melodies. Musical theory is integrated in through the lessons, beginning with learning how to draw and recognize different elements of the music, and continuing with increasing education in the finer points of playing, such as dynamics, touch and pedaling.

As new techniques are acquired, new musical horizons are opened and continued growth in musicianship is cultivated.

Intermediate students increase their musical knowledge with brief and interesting notes on the historical and musical background of influential composers and analyses of classic music art forms. They also advance through the practical study of ornamentation, procedures for the development of velocity and compositions developing techniques necessary for contemporary music.
